Domain Registration FAQ
Before Registration
Can I get a refund after registering a domain?
A domain is a digital product that takes effect immediately. Once successfully registered, it is not eligible for a refund. Please carefully verify the domain name, extension, term, and registrant information before registering.
How long does it take for a domain to become active after registration?
Most generic top-level domains (such as .com, .net, .xyz) become active within minutes after successful registration. Some country-code domains may require additional registration document review. Once the review is passed, activation usually takes 1–3 business days.
Why can't I purchase a domain that shows as "available"?
Possible reasons include:
-
The domain was registered by someone else after your search (we recommend purchasing immediately)
-
The domain is a premium domain and the price was not displayed correctly during the search
-
The registry temporarily adjusted the availability status of the domain
-
Your account has unresolved outstanding fees or security restrictions
We recommend refreshing the search results or contacting customer support for confirmation.
How many domains can I register?
NamesLink does not limit the number of domains you can register. Both individual and business users can register as many domains as they need.
Registration Information
Can I modify my registration information if I entered it incorrectly?
Yes. Log in to your NamesLink account, go to Domain Management > target domain > Edit Registrant Information, and you can update the registrant details.
Can the domain owner be changed?
Yes. A domain owner change refers to transferring the domain to another registrant (for example, from an individual to a business, or from Account A to Account B). NamesLink supports the following change methods:
-
Change within the same account: Modify the domain registrant contact profile
-
Transfer in / transfer out: Complete the cross-registrar transfer through a domain transfer
Will my domain information be made public?
The system enables Domain Privacy Protection to hide personal information. Some country-code domains cannot enable privacy protection due to local registry policy restrictions.

-

ns1.cloudflare.com,ns2.cloudflare.com) -

After changing the DNS servers, the domain's resolution will be managed by the new DNS provider.
Can I set up domain forwarding?
NamesLink does not currently support this feature.
Renewal and Expiration
Will I receive reminders before my domain expires?
Yes. NamesLink will send reminders via email 60 days, 30 days, 15 days, 7 days, and on the expiration date. We recommend enabling auto-renewal to avoid missing the deadline.
Can I recover a domain after it expires?
Yes, but it depends on how much time has passed since expiration:
-
Grace period (0–30 days): You can renew at the regular price and restore the domain immediately
-
Redemption period (30–60 days): Recovery is subject to platform redemption policies and fees
Why is my website still inaccessible after renewal?
Possible reasons:
-
DNS cache has not refreshed: Global DNS cache refresh takes time, usually restoring within 24–48 hours
-
DNS settings lost: If the domain was expired for an extended period, DNS records may have been cleared and need to be reconfigured
-
Server issues: Please check whether your website server is running normally
We recommend waiting 24 hours after renewal. If the issue persists, please contact customer support.
Pricing and Payment
Why do domain prices change?
Domain prices may change for the following reasons:
-
Registry price adjustment: Registries (such as Verisign) may adjust wholesale extension prices annually
-
Currency exchange rate fluctuations
-
Promotions: First-year registration discounts and limited-time offers will revert to standard pricing after the promotion ends
-
Premium domains: Some popular words belong to the premium word list, and their prices are set individually by the registry
What payment methods are supported?
NamesLink supports the following payment methods:
-
International credit cards (Visa, MasterCard)
-
Alipay
-
Bank transfer
